F.A.Q'S (FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS)

Some subjects cannot be properly covered by the Online Buying Guide, or information cannot be found elsewhere on the website. To help you, we can list questions we are asked by our customers, and hope the answers are useful.

If you are still unsure about something, please contact us for information, and we will try and sort out your queries. We may add your question to this list if we feel it is appropriate.

Q. Can I order items that are sold out ?
Q. I had to pay a different price than shown on my advance order, why ?
Q. I bought a car from MRE, and when I bought another one a month later I had to pay a higher price. Why ?
Q. When the Scalextric Dodge Viper I had ordered arrived, it looked different to the picture in the Scalextric catalogue. I don’t like the racing car, I wanted the road car in the catalogue, can I change it please ?
Q. I could not register because the country I live in (Nigeria) is not on the country registration list. What should I do ?
Q. I am a member of the NSCC and also the Scalextric Racer Club. Do I get extra discount for being a member of both clubs ?
Q. When I visited the MRE warehouse, I could only see the car I wanted at the full catalogue price. I am an online Club Customer, would I have to pay the full price in the shop ?
Q. I live in Brazil but I cannot change your Currency Convertor for my country. Can you include this ?


Q. Can I order items that are sold out ?
A. Yes. Add the items to your shopping basket. The screen will show that items Sold Out are placed on your Reserve List and will be sent to you as soon as they are back in stock.

Q. I had to pay a different price than shown on my advance order, why ?
A. Unfortunately we do not have any control over the price goods are invoiced to MRE at. Sometimes the manufacturer changes the price, sometimes we are affected by the exchange rate rising or falling, sometimes we have to pay extra duty for imported items. We try and show accurate prices for items not yet released, but we have to charge the actual price when items arrive in stock. NOTE - some items do reduce in price for the above reasons.

Q. I bought a car from MRE, and when I bought another one a month later I had to pay a higher price. Why ?
A. When you bought the first car, your sales history for the previous 12 months showed you had the price status of a Club Price customer. When you bought the next car, some purchases you had previously made became more than 12 months old, and your status reduced to Mail Price customer. Buy regularly to get the best prices, and check your buying history in your personal details section. By joining one of the affiliated clubs on our list you will pay the Club Price even if you have not bought anything within the last 12 months.

Q. When the Scalextric Dodge Viper I had ordered arrived, it looked different to the picture in the Scalextric catalogue. I don’t like the racing car, I wanted the road car in the catalogue, can I change it please ?
A. Please see Item 10 in our Terms & Conditions. We supplied the item you had ordered, but Scalextric changed the Dodge Viper before releasing it. We will refund or credit the cost of the Dodge Viper when it is returned to us in new saleable condition. Please contact us to arrange return.

Q. I could not register because the country I live in (Nigeria) is not on the country registration list. What should I do ?
A. Please contact us by email. Because we cannot take automatic payment by credit card from some countries, we can arrange to register you and take payment by Bankers Draft.

Q. I am a member of the NSCC and also the Scalextric Racer Club. Do I get extra discount for being a member of both clubs ?
A. No. As a Club Member of any one of the clubs on our list, you will pay the Club Price. Make sure you are a member of at least one club at all times, or the price you pay will be higher when your membership expires.

Q. When I visited the MRE warehouse, I could only see the car I wanted at the full catalogue price. I am an online Club Customer, would I have to pay the full price in the shop ?
A. Yes. The reduced prices are only for online sales. We can keep online prices lower because online sales do not have warehouse overheads. The MRE warehouse and MRE Online are managed separately, MRE warehouse staff do not have information about MRE Online prices or sales.

Q. I live in Brazil but I cannot change your Currency Convertor for my country. Can you include this ?
A. 19 May 2005 we have added extra currencies for Mexico, Brazil, United Arab Emirates, Bahamas, Barbados to assist our customers in these locations. Please contact us if you require extra currencies to be added to our convertor.
