We have details of the new Revell slot cars for 2008. There are 11 new cars of which four are completely new models. All the new cars (and some older ones still in production) have a price rise up to £34.99 for 2008.

The Mercedes 220 SE will be available in two versions from the Argentina Rally of 1962 (Ewy Rosqvist & Ursula Wirth) and 1964 (Eugen Bohringer & Klaus Kaiser) and promises to be an unusual prototype.

The Audi Quattro Sport is the final development short wheelbase GpB car and will also be in two rally versions, Ivory Coast 1984 (Stig Blomqvist & Bjorn Cederberg) and the Monte Carlo 1985 (Walter Rohrl & Christian Geistdorfer).

The Ford Galaxy is a huge classic NASCAR stocker and the 1963 and 1965 versions to be released actually have different bodyshells, not just a paint job. Revell are probably the best company for accurate modelling so we are sure both these cars will be authentically modelled and detailed.

The Lola T70 is an iconic sports car that is very much needed as a slot car. We cannot confirm if this new car will use the original Monogram moulds (we will be asking when we see Revell at the trade shows) but the first car to be released is the John Surtees car as raced in the UK and USA.

All the other Revell new cars are different liveries on older models, including two Limited Editions, the NSU TT Jagermeister and the BMWE 320i Wurth of Manfred Winkelhock. Other new models are previously announced and already pictured on the MRE website.

We are now taking advance orders on all the new models.
